Core Values
Why to define it?
Because it will reduce the discrepancy between the decisions we make and what is important to us at our core.
Core Values
Anything that is important to us is really what values are all about. We all have them, but we sometimes live them on an unconscious level.
”All our actions and decisions are affected by our values.”
When to use it?
Always, but mostly, unconsciously. To preserve the positive adjustments we make in our lives, it is important to tune in and readjust our values regularly.
Why to define it?
Depending on our attachment style, we tend to enter or exit relationships too quickly or too slowly. However, if we define our core values, we are better equipped to navigate through challenging decisions in a value-based manner, with balanced timing and without losing direction or ourselves.
Conversely, if we don’t know which values are important to us, we increase the mismatch (widening the gap) between the decisions we make and what is truly important to us, leading to a sense of meaninglessness, frustration, and dissatisfaction in our lives and relationships.
In MyCoreJourney, we sit down and meet ourselves on a deeper level, finding the words that describe what is important to us. When we make this effort, it naturally becomes important to us to stay true to these values. But like all changes, it requires knowledge of where we want to go, and our values serve as a guide in this regard. Therefore, we have designed this platform to start with ‘values’ as the first step to kickstart awareness about what is important to you.
Can we craft a value-based life?
Indeed we can!
Everything that is important to us is precisely what we call values. To promote a lifestyle based on values, we need to know our core values, which are our ideals.
Therefore, we define ‘values’ in the first step of My Core Journey. The descriptions may initially seem vague, but with time and reflection, they become detailed, precise, and resonate deeply within us. Meeting ourselves on a deeper level increases our awareness of our needs, and we cannot help but live a more conscious life in alignment with our values. We just need to ‘nail’ them first. All our actions and decisions are influenced by our values.
Regularly reflecting on our core values provides us with a sustainable, mental, and emotionally healthy lifestyle and helps us avoid reverting to old patterns and mechanisms that were not healthy for us.
When to use it?
When working with our core values, we become more aware of them, and our actions and decisions will increasingly be anchored in these values in any life situation.
This awareness will make it easier for us to decode previous behavior and gradually translate our values into practice. It will also enable us to spot signs where there is a high risk of entering a relationship and situations that have a seriously negative impact on our daily lives.
When we can express your boundaries in time or end a relationship in a loving way before it’s too late, before we get hurt, or before we end up ‘proving our worth’ all the time just to avoid being abandoned, then we have shifted to a life based on values. When we feel that we are ‘consciously’ navigating through each day, THAT is when our core values have become our inner compass.
