* Does healing mean getting over it, or learning to carry it differently?

* Does healing mean getting over it, or learning to carry it differently?

Sit down with us here, and let’s talk about healing. Real healing is rarely simple. Some things change you, f-o-r-e-v-e-r. A loss that broke you inside, a betrayal, childhood experience you still carry with you or the version of yourself you had to become to survive something difficult. You can move on with your life and still carry what happened with you. Healing does not always mean that something stops hurting. Sometimes it means it stops controlling you.
You may still remember what happened. You may still feel sadness, anger, grief, or even love. But perhaps you no longer organise your life around avoiding that feeling. You no longer let what happened decide who you trust, what you tolerate, or what you believe you deserve. Or you do just that, but not because your past still controls you. You simply know what you no longer want to expose yourself to? Because moving on is not the same as becoming unaffected.

We don’t believe that true healing means that the pain you have suffered no longer matters. It does. Choosing not to expose yourself to something that destabilizes you can be an expression of healing rather than evidence that you haven’t healed. We believe that learning to carry the experience and at the same time protect your peace equals healing.  When you define your core values in mycorejourney you create a direction to what happens next. If you value trust, what would rebuilding trust look like for you?
If you value respect, what will you no longer accept?  If you value freedom, what are you still allowing your past to decide for you?
Your values can become a direction when your emotions are still catching up.

There is no universal timetable for healing. Someone else may think you should be over it by now. You may even think it yourself. But there is a difference between the clock on the wall,  and the clock time within you.
